Violin wanted
Within the timeframe of 23rd and 26th Dezember 2008 a violin has been stolen
at the students hostel in Trossingen, Germany. The violin is described as follows:| Case |
Black
violin case in a violin shape which was made by GEWA. Covered with
textile in black with two zip fasteners and spring locks, One zip
fastener is defect. Carrying handle covered with
a green pad, which is actually removeable. Within this violin case
there was one violin and 2 bows which will be described next. |
| Violin: | Made by Angelo Rovati,
Genua (northern Italy) in 1927 (withoute name label in it). The
instrument
is original and matching in all important parts, like belly, back, rib
and scroll. The belly is made in two parts out of spruce wood, with
striking, normal in size and even grown tree rings; the bottom is in
two parts made out of mable wood, with fine, almost
horizontal running flaming, the rib is in the same material
like the backwood; the scroll is made out of maple wood with wide
flaming in rindscut. The violin has a transparent finish with
orange-fawn stain. Measures are (measure over the back):: 358 mm - 166,5 mm - 112,5 mm - 208 mm" The Violin si in a very good condition. More Details: Bridge made my Machold, Griffbrett unregelmäßig, wurde schon länger nicht mehr überholt. Wirbel und Saitenhalter in Hellbraun, Kinnhalter in schwarz. Rechte Seite der Violine ist vom Streichen etwas abgenutzt, an dieser Stelle löst sich auch an der Ecke ein Stück Holz. Zarge unter dem Kinnhalter ist mit Schutzfolie abgedeckt. Die Violine ist mit folgenden Saiten bezogen: e'': Thomastik IR01 Infeld; a': Thomastik 131 Dominant; d` und g`: Pirastro Obligato mittel. |

| Bow 2: | Stick is at the top (quasi at the point) repared, which is almost not visible. enchased name clear but not known (probably phony). |
